Create Affiliate Marketing Ebooks Free

Have no fear, this isn't the type of virus you should be afraid of, it's the type of virus you need, for your website that is.  There are two viral strategies top Internet marketers are using right now to get their website link plastered on websites and passed all around the web for free.  Strategy one uses ebooks and strategy two uses affiliate programs.

What's a Viral Strategy?   A viral strategy is a marketing strategy that promotes your business for free, with very little or virtually no effort on your part.

Here's a few examples of online businesses that have made millions using viral strategies.

Hotmail - www.Hotmail.com

Hotmail owes its success to a simple viral strategy.  They went from a small company to being bought out by Microsoft for millions.  They did all of this with very little paid advertising.  Their viral strategy works because they give out free email accounts.  Every time someone sends out an email through their system, a signature file linking to their website is attached at the bottom promoting their free email account services.

Today, millions of people email friends and businesses through their system.  They have millions of advertising impressions being sent out every day for free.  While other companies spend ridiculous amounts building their business, Hotmail does it for free.  Today there are thousands of free email websites copying Hotmail's winning formula.  Why reinvent the wheel?

ICQ - www.icq.com

When ICQ started out they only had $100,000 to spend on marketing.  They wanted to sell their software but couldn't compete with competitors deep pockets.  So they had to be creative.  They tried a different approach and decided to give it away for free.  ICQ is software that allows people on the Internet to talk to each other, but both parties must have the free software downloaded on their computer to communicate.  This forces people using the software to tell their friends to download it.  It's 100% free advertising!  And people do it without hesitation.

So how does ICQ make money giving away their software for free?  Giving something away for free is the best way to build a customer database.  To date, ICQ has been downloaded more than 200 million times at www.downloads.com.  That's a lot of names and email addresses for one mailing list.  How much do you think a mailing list like this is worth?  AOL seems to think it was worth quite a bit because they bought out the original owners for 287 million dollars.

Below is an article I copied from ICQ's website.

Viral Marketing - Chapter 12, by Emanuel Rosen
www.emanuel-rosen.com
"...An interesting thing about ICQ is their marketing - or the lack thereof. When journalist Ami Ginsburg came to interview the young Israeli founders, all the "marketing" they could show was a brochure they had once produced but that was hardly ever used. They simply didn't do marketing as we know it. All their efforts are directed at motivating the user to spread the word. They seemed to understand that as much as people liked the services, they wouldn't necessarily go out of their way to promote it. So they tried to make it very easy to spread the word. For example, they use the standard e-mail that will invite your friend to join, but the software can also be instructed to scan your address book and send all your friends invitation letters. Telemarketers from ICQ will never call you up during dinner the way MCI did. Their idea is to build a tool that includes an inherent mechanism for spreading the word and then letting it grow. When a structure like this works, there is no need to nag customers. "The less you do, the more it grows", Ted Leonsis of AOL, the company that now owns ICQ, told Newsweek".

Blue Mountain Arts - www.Bluemountain.com

This website allows you to send free electronic post cards to friends and family.  They make money by selling advertising spots throughout the site.  When you send a card to a friend they must visit the site to pick up the card.  While at the site they're exposed to advertising and encouraged to sign up and send a card to a friend or relative.  It just keeps going and going and they don't have to do anything to get traffic.

Free Web Hosting

These companies are a dime a dozen.  Free web hosting companies give their customers free server space for their website.  The customer doesn't pay hosting fees and the free web host gets to display an advertisement on their customer's site.  When the customer advertises their site, the free web host is getting free advertising as well.  It's a win win for you and the free web hosting company.

The above companies have two things in common.  One, they all give something away for free.  Two, they get tons of traffic with no effort on their part, and spend nothing on advertising.

Most online businesses don't fail because of lack of sales or a poor product or bad management.  They go out of business because advertising costs more than the profits made in sales.  For most companies, advertising simply costs too much.

Affiliate Programs are another viral strategy many online businesses use today.

What's an Affiliate Program?  Affiliate Programs started back in the days of Amazon.com in the late 90's.  Amazon sells books.  If you become an Amazon affiliate, you can sell their books online and earn a commission simply by referring people to their web site through a unique link they supply you with.  Whenever anyone clicks on your affiliate link, any purchases they make are tracked.  If they make a purchase, your account is credited a percentage of the sale.  You can check your sales, in real time, in your affiliate account, located on the sellers password protected site.

Affiliate Programs allow you create an army of people selling your product for free.  You don't pay them unless they make a sale.  No sale, no money.  You can't loose.  This is very easy to use technology, that runs on auto pilot and builds your business effortlessly.  The software creators install it on your server and affiliates can immediately start signing up.

What's an Ebook? The "e" in "ebook" stands for electronic.  It's a file that contains information, usually about your product or service, and it should link back to your website sales letter or order form for maximum effect.  It's just like a regular book you would read, but instead it's on your computer.  Ebooks also make perfect user guides.

Ebooks usually come as an executable (.exe) file or as an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file and either compile word document files or HTML files.  I create my ebooks with my software, Traffic Virus Ebook's, which compile all my HTML files into one executable file.

Ebooks are one of the easiest viral strategies you can have working for your online business.  Ebooks propagate themselves by using people as the medium.  Think of how a virus spreads from person to person. Similarly, an ebook is given from person to person.

There are two major advantages to using ebooks to promote your business.  One, it spreads itself around the Internet automatically, thus creating your viral strategy.  Two, it builds credibility among your readers, thus increasing your sales.

In their eyes, if you've written a good ebook, you're considered an expert before they even get to your website.  Can you think of any better state of mind for your visitors to be in?

Your objective is to get your free ebook passed around to as many people as possible.  The key word being "FREE Ebook."  When it's free, people put it on their website for their visitors and customers to download or give it to friends, family and associates.  Like-minded people who may be interested in buying your product or using your service.

Free ebooks give website owners valuable content to hand out to their visitors.  Some website owners will hand it out as a free bonus to get visitors' names and email addresses to follow-up.  Let people know they can give out your ebooks for free or use them as free bonuses to entice visitors to sign up to their ezine or news letter.  Write it in your ebook.  Tell them you want them to hand it out!

Giving potential customers free and useful information is the key.  Don't expect to hand-out garbage and get back gold.  Information that produces knowledge will get passed around because it's useful.  No one's going to waste their time handing out useless information.

Your ebook should be good enough to sell.  If you can sell it, it will start a traffic virus.  If people can see benefits in what you give away for free, they'll trust they can expect greater benefits by owning or using your product or service.

Some internet marketers, like Terry Dean, hand-out hundreds of free ebooks a day.  That doesn't include the thousands his affiliates hand-out.  Hundreds of thousands of his ebooks sit on people's computers right now, promoting his products, and link to his website.  He doesn't have to lift a finger and traffic flood his site every day.

Here's an example of how your ebook may get passed around.  Let's say people download your ebook from an online classified ad you placed in a targeted ezine (A.K.A eMail News Letter).  Let's assume one of the individuals who downloaded it finds it very interesting.  So interesting that they visit your website, buy your product and then email your ebook to a friend.  Now the friend shows it to some chat line buddies and one of the chat line buddies happens to have a website with 10,000 subscribers that would be interested in your ebook.  It just continues on without any money or effort on your part.

Ebooks are a cost effective way to market your online business.  By handing out free ebooks you eliminate overhead such as printing and mailing information pamphlets about your product or service.  Customers can just download an ebook from your site.  It's free for them and for you.  The only thing an interested prospect has to do is click on a link, in your ebook, that will take them directly to your website sales letter or online order form.  And you can even hand out your ebooks on CD's or diskettes.

If your product is information, then ebooks are the best way to package and distribute them.  It doesn't matter how many copies you sell.  Shipping, packaging and printing costs nothing because your selling, or giving out, a downloadable file.  Ten thousand copies won't cost you anymore than one hundred.  And depending on where you live, you may NOT have to pay taxes on your downloadable information products.  That's because you're selling bits and bites, not a tangible product.  It's no surprise that digital publishing is exploding and information is one of the biggest online sellers.

What's an Affiliate Marketing Ebook?  An Affiliate Marketing Ebook, is an ebook that contains affiliate links.  In other words, the author of the ebook gives his affiliates, his ebook, with their affiliate links in it.  This means the affiliates can hand out the authors ebook, and earn commissions when customers make a purchase at the authors web site.

This method of ebook marketing gives your ebooks an added punch by motivating affiliates to hand them out for free and earn profit.  Traffic Virus Ebooks was specifically designed to compliment affiliate programs and to further increase ebook distribution by adding an easy to use editing tool called Ebook Editor.

Ebook Editor allows your affiliates to edit affiliate links within your ebook.  Authors have total control over the editing by using passwords and variable setting features.  If you haven't already, download a copy of my free software at my home page.
